SUMMARY:Yankee Chapter Test Prep Workshop
DESCRIPTION:How does this workshop differ from a NAVHDA Aims and Rules Clinic?\nNAVHDA Aims and Rules Clinics focus on the NAVHDA testing and judging system – on the scoring system\, what judges look for\, and what the elements of the test are designed to accomplish. \nThe Yankee Test Prep Workshop will focus on handlers’ actions and options in the field and at the water. We won’t be teaching any “tricks” or ways to “beat” the testing system. We will present practical and effective handling advice for both the Natural Ability and Utility Tests. The workshop is lead by a moderator with a panel of Yankee Chapter members\, including Judges and Pro Trainers. \nWhat’s the format?\nThe workshop will cover Natural Ability in the morning and Utility in the afternoon\, approximately three hours per session with a break in the middle of each. Participants can attend both sessions or just one. This is a people clinic\, not a dog clinic — you won’t be working your dog. We will have two handlers and their dogs to demonstrate\, as needed. \nThe workshop is free of charge to all Yankee members. Non-members will be asked to pay $10 and can apply that to a Yankee Chapter membership ($20) if they’d like. \nParticipants should bring something to sit on. Full-day participants should bring their own lunches\, beverages\, etc.

The only difference being those who are testing get priority in the running order. \nPlease remember to come prepared for warm temps giving yourself and your dog plenty of water and shade. \nDirections:\nFrom I-295 take exit 37 for ME-125/ME-138 toward Bowdoinham.\nTurn right onto ME-125/ME-138 N/Main Street.\nWhen Main Street intersects River Road\, turn left onto River Road.\nTurn right onto Browns Point Road.\nTake the first righ tonto Wildes Road.\nFollow the paved road past the houses to the end\, then follow the\ndirt road until you see the training fields.\nPLEASE DRIVE VERY SLOWLY DOWN WILDES ROAD \nThe residents on Wilde’s Rd have expressed concerns regarding the speed of folks entering the site.
