FIELD GOALS!

Get Ready for Yankee’s First Outdoor Clinic of the Year

The first outdoor YANKEE TRAINING CLINIC of the 2026 season will be held at the
Green Point Wildlife Management Area on April 25 from
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Whether you’re testing a dog this year, introducing a puppy to the wonderful world of bird hunting,
or just giving your hunting buddy a tune-up, come join us. We’ll cover all kinds of field work for
all levels — steadiness, tracking, retrieving, heeling, and obedience drills.

(No water work yet.)

Reminder

Yankee clinics are designed to provide a variety of training opportunities for everyone and their dogs.
When it is not your turn in the field, there are plenty of ways to stay involved:

  • Practice heeling and stay drills on the place boards
  • Find a partner and work on retrieving drills
  • Walk along with other dogs in the field to observe and learn
  • Help as a “gallery” for dogs practicing tracks and drag retrieves
  • Pitch in with the setup and lunch crew

Important Notes

Please keep your dog on a lead or staked unless:

  • You are working your dog in the field
  • You are in the designated exercise area
  • You are participating in drills

You may run your dog in the fields or woods once the clinic is over. However,
no gunfire (live or blank) is allowed after the clinic ends.

Green Point is open to the public at all times. While we carefully monitor gunning during clinics
and tests, once the clinic has ended there may be other people using the grounds for activities
such as bird watching or walking their dogs.
