News from the NAVHDA Executive Council

The EC recently had a strategic planning meeting, reviewing the member survey and working together to plan for how they can better serve the organization and meet its needs. We look forward to hearing the results of the survey and plans going forward. In the meantime, their latest newsletter covered some changes and projects already in the works.

Promotions

• External Promotions: NAVHDA has updated the partner relationship plan that will be getting rolled out soon. This will expand the organization’s ability to accept more partnerships.
• Internal Promotions: The Volunteer Sign up was rolled out and will continue to be live. The committee will be sharing membership interests and following up soon. For those that expressed interest in being Mentors, the committee will be sending out the final sign up soon. They have started to revamp the Regional Representative program and more details will be available soon.

Judging Updates

• Judges should try to plan to attend the NAVHDA Annual Meeting in Buffalo, New York. The EC and Judging committees are currently developing the next In-Person Judges Workshop agenda, broken up into two segments over two days. They encourage as many judges to attend as possible.

Bylaws, Policies, & Procedures

• Work has begun on building a Policies & Procedures directory page on the NAVHDA website that includes links to the procedures and all the necessary forms that are needed for each of them. The page is being designed with the functionalities to make this well organized and very user friendly.
• The next step will be to get all available procedures loaded onto the website and once the majority are approved, make the page open and useable to all.
