Governance & Compliance

  • The Chapter’s Annual Report filing was completed and accepted by the State.
  • Change of Officer forms were submitted and received by:
    • The State
    • NAVHDA International
  • The NAVHDA International insurance policy was shared with the Yankee Chapter Board for distribution and review.

Scheduling & Event Coordination

  • All training days and test dates were finalized.
  • Dates were submitted to and approved by Keel Kemper and IFW.
  • Porta potties were ordered and paid for to support scheduled events.
  • Indoor clinic registration was distributed to the membership.
  • WAHP planning has commenced.

Bird Procurement & Financial Planning

  • The Board engaged in multiple discussions with Foggy Ridge Game Birds (FRGB) regarding Spring pheasant pricing.
  • After evaluating cost and reliability, the Chapter voted to continue using FRGB in recognition of their consistent support and dependability.
  • With assistance from Brian P, year-over-year bird number calculations were completed to evaluate trends and forecast potential test entry and clinic fee adjustments.
  • Misi, Brian P, and team distributed a membership survey to gauge interest in pre-paying for birds at clinics.
  • Misi is actively developing a new payment system to allow members to pre-pay for birds in advance of clinics.

Testing Updates

  • Nick conducted the lottery drawing for Spring and Fall tests and finalized confirmed test entries.
    • June Test: Two full days
    • Fall Test: Three full days, with a waitlist established
  • Information was shared with the Board and participating handlers.

Programs & Initiatives

  • Nate B proposed that the Yankee Chapter participate in the Clynk2Give program.
  • The Board reviewed and approved participation.

Representation at NAVHDA International Annual Meeting

Members of the Menger Elite Task Force attended the Annual Meeting in San Antonio, where they:

  • Proposed a motion to more specifically allocate resources with conservation partners at the international level.
    • The motion did not pass.
    • The NAVHDA Executive Council indicated its intention to incorporate the spirit and intent of the motion into future actions.
  • Welcomed a new group of judges and senior judges.
  • Participated in educational and networking opportunities in support of the Chapter.
  • Studied Alamo history and enjoyed local cuisine.

Summary

The Chapter remains in good standing with State and NAVHDA International compliance requirements.

Event scheduling, testing coordination, and financial planning efforts are well underway. Strategic initiatives — including bird cost management, pre-payment structuring, and participation in Clynk2Give — reflect proactive planning to strengthen operational sustainability and member engagement.
